Laser Spine Institute Or LSI

LSI or the Laser Spine Institute was first established in Tampa, Florida five years ago. It was founded by Dr. James St. Louis, Dr. Michael Perry and Dr. Glenn Hamburg in collaboration with EFO Holdings. It came into being with the express purpose of giving people the best spine treatment possible, keeping in mind that if it was minimally invasive, it would be better. One successful surgery after another followed and soon the center grew by leaps and bounds and expanded its operation to other cities in the country too.

What does this institute offer? It offers laser treatment for one of the worst problems people face today – chronic back pain. From being a problem that usually affected people as they aged, this has become a problem that young and old alike face and they need to get quick relief from pain. LSI gives it to them and all it takes very often is a tiny incision at the back. This means that while the pain relief is much quicker, the recovery time is too as the procedure is really minimally invasive.

Laser surgery seems to be presenting a very safe and viable alternative to conventional surgery in many areas and the spine is one of them. When one is dealing with a very sensitive area of the body, at times, laser precision may be a better way to go rather than traditional surgical ways. Provided of course that the surgeons handling the machines are extremely competent.
LSI has a very experienced and highly qualified team that manages the various centers and they have all been trained under the Chief Surgeon and founder, Dr. James St. Louis. Not just the surgeons and the staff, the facilities are top notch too and the centers provide the latest and the most innovative facilities and procedures. Everything is state of the art – from the imaging center to the physical therapy rooms to the waiting rooms. The great thing is, in most cases, there is no hospital stay and the patient is free to go home. In more complicated cases, there will be a stay required but this is really short compared to conventional surgery. The thing is, even in really advanced cases, the person can go back to work in 5 days. The success rates have been high in endoscopic spinal procedures at LSI and thousands have benefited from their treatment for various back conditions.

The procedure entails a local anesthetic and sedation through an intravenous drip. This ensures that the person is conscious but relaxed right through the procedure and the time taken to come out of the effects of the anesthetic is very short. With very small incisions, the healing is quick and not about to have too many complications. Today, LSI has made laser surgery a very viable option in back pain treatment, taking away the risks that conventional surgery poses when it comes to the spine.

What started off as a small operation in Tampa has today grown to be a name that the whole world is familiar with. They have centers in almost every continent – North America, Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and South America. They are represented in almost every American state and they have grown to be known as America’s leading back care center.
